Position Description and Requirements
Provides engineering support to operational goals in the areas of cost, safety, throughput, quality and equipment reliability. Work may include involvement in new equipment installation, redesign or modification of existing equipment and process control as applicable.
This role typically reports to the Manager - Mill Engineering and impacts or has
indirect influence on an operation or facility.
Supervision is readily available but work execution is self directed. Specific projects
and tasks are outlined by supervisor and checked for completion. For typical
decisions made in this job, information is analyzed and interpreted. Projects may
require working independently or as part of a team.
CONTACTS
Regularly negotiates with or influences supervisors, employees and vendors or
contractors.
Continually advises or interprets information for directors, managers or
superintendents. Occasionally advises or interprets information for equipment
manufacturers and other suppliers.
Requires intrapersonal skills such as advising, counseling, exchanging information
via various methods such as participating in meetings or group discussions and
conducting meetings or leading group discussions to share process
recommendations; and composing written communications such as technical writing.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
· A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or related disciplines.
· A minimum core curriculum GPA of 2.8.
· Light travel required.
