Position Description and Requirements
Provide technical support to Manufacturing Departments, Quality Control, Sales Service & Engineering in the areas of Chemistry, Pulp and Paper Manufacture, Chemical Engineering, and Product Development.
Essential Functions:
Review, analyze and summarize process and quality data
Generate reports on process parameters and chemical costs
Troubleshoot operational or environmental upsets to keep processes within limits
Oversee product development efforts, from idea inception to grade goal implementation
Run process trials to improve product quality or operations
Maintain databases on process parameters
Field technical questions from sales and customers about products
Oversee specification management, cost assurance and customer samples
Other duties as assigned
Skills and Training:
BS degree in Pulp & Paper or Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
Five years experience in Pulp & Paper Manufacturing
Ability to summarize information and present it in either written or oral form
Knowledge of statistics
Experience dealing with customers
Good reasoning and math skills
