The Paper Machine Manager is responsible for the safe and reliable operation of the equipment in his area. This includes working with maintenance to plan and schedule work, coaching operators, developing front line leaders, development of operating procedures, identification and implementation of improvements and continued productivity improvements. This person will be heavily involved in reduction of cost, including improving productivity and reliability. This Person will successfully implement and proactively seek continuous improvement efforts within operation and training in order to function in the most reliable manner possible. The Paper Machine Manager will provide leadership qualities with the ability to implement problem solving strategies and successfully execute key performances metrics.
2. Key Accountabilities:
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demand safety procedures are followed and executed according to compliance
- Manage a four shift rotation in a safe, reliable, and cost effective operation set by budget constraints
- Ensure shift supervisors and employees execute procedures and proper operation of equipment
- Provide vision and direction to those within the paper manufacturing area.
3. Key Competencies:
The qualified candidate will have demonstrated leadership and collaboration in a team environment, persistence/energy, planning and organizing, analytical thinking, quality orientation and a commitment to excellence. The candidate must also possess superior oral and written communication skills; direct contact with customers is required. Excellent people skills are mandatory.
4. Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in engineering or paper science background with 2-5 years related experience. The successful candidate should be familiar with manufacturing, safety policies, and environmental programs.
